Private ocean waterfront suite with southern exposure overlooking Blackfish Sound, Stubbs Island, & Johnstone Strait. Covered porch for smokers. Organic self-serve breakfast. Beach side kitchen & fire pit. Yoga class Sunday afternoons. High speed wireless internet. Pet friendly.

One of the best areas in the world for whale watching, kayaking, diving, salmon & halibut fishing, & bird watching. You can see at least seven different species of marine mammals in this area. There are many eagles, blue heron, ravens, deer &, if you are lucky, killer whales rubbing on the beach at Bere Point.

Midden Lane, an ideal place to launch small boats & kayaks, is also the home of the Mitchell Bay Tyee Club. Try to catch a salmon out of a row boat, right off the beach on the outside of the kelp bed. My biggest last year was 32 pounds. The halibut are a little further away & more accessible with power. We can show you where to go! Stubbs Island, at 'Killer Whale Crossroads', is just one mile from our beach. You can see the action with a good pair of binoculars. The native Kwakiutl village of Alert Bay is close by with a 'must see' museum featuring repatriated artifacts from 'The Last Potlatch' at Village Island. There is a Big House thriving with culture that has scheduled gatherings for visitors.

Sointula, established in 1901 as a Finnish Utopian Community, has been recognized for its museum, the local art gallery, & two first class hiking trails. Local practitioners are available for aromatherapy, massage, traditional Chinese medicine, Jin Shin Do, and reflexology.Bring a mountain bike, a pair of good running shoes, & a bathing suit ( a wet suit for the ocean) for some awesome cross training. We will show you where to go! It doesn't get much better than this!
