An escape from city life! Arica Gardens is a luxurious timberframe home on 10 acres in the Slocan Valley. The house was raised in 1997 in 12 hours after five months of notching timbers from 16 old growth white pine logs. Arica Gardens opened in 2001 to share this wonderful building and is now starting its 7th season in 2007. Thank you all who have visited and returned and look forward to meeting a new group of friends this year. Arica Gardens was chosen by Sononis Press to launch their history of the Slocan Valley 'Slocan 'Portrait of a Valley' by Katherine Gordon in 2004 and is still a best seller.
The Vista and Garden room both have private balconies and ensuite with a two person tub in one and jacuzzi in other, also the Creekside Suite is fully self contained with two bedrooms, private patio and sauna.
Only 40 minutes from historic Nelson's fine dining and eclectic shopping. Fly into Castlegar airport.
Swim or kayak in the pristine Slocan River.
Incredible alpine hiking and climbing in Valhalla Park.
Close to Whitewater and Red Mountain - ski and board the Kootenay's famous powder. Heli or snowcat tour the backcountry.
